Support for starting a business

Fostering a region’s economic development involves many facets. Young, innovative companies are a key factor, which is why we are happy to guide you through the startup process. The first step toward your success is our startup advisory service—offered free of charge, just like all subsequent steps. Working alongside partners from various sectors, the WiFöG pursues the goal of dynamic growth through streamlined, unbureaucratic collaboration. We cooperate with chambers of commerce, industry associations, public authorities, and ministries, among others. Over the years, this approach has enabled us to build a powerful network that is available for your business to leverage at any time. Furthermore, we have launched effective initiatives to combat the shortage of skilled labor. The “Digital Commuter Mail” (digitale Pendlerpost), the seal for family-friendly employers, and the Food Academy are among the measures spearheaded by the Southwest Mecklenburg Economic Development Agency (WiFöG)—though it was through collaboration that they truly gained their significance.

Securing skilled workers

Through the LUP-O-MAT and the Jobpost, we contribute to securing a skilled workforce in the region. Companies can apply for the Family Seal to demonstrate their commitment to work-life balance. Family-friendly employers have a better chance of attracting skilled professionals and retaining them within the company in the long term. Contact WiFöG to learn more about creating a family-friendly work environment. We advise business owners on how family-friendliness and economic success can go hand in hand. Even small businesses can implement various measures to help employees balance their professional and private lives. Once you apply for the Family Seal, a jury reviews your company to ensure it meets all the requirements. If successful, companies are awarded the seal for an initial period of three years and can use it in their recruitment marketing.

Space Rental & Property Management

Jörn Wille is available to answer any questions regarding DeveLUP, coworking spaces, and events. He manages the facility, which aims to encourage founders, start-ups, and young companies to establish themselves there. Through his work, Mr. Wille contributes to positioning the “Zukunftszentrum” (Future Center) across the entire district.

The positioning of DeveLUP has lasting, far-reaching effects on the economic development and future viability of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district and its businesses; the project was therefore co-financed by the European Union.

Welcome Center

The “Welcome Center in the Ludwigslust-Parchim District” project serves as a **point of contact for skilled professionals and workers** wishing to live and work in the area. The Welcome Center is operated by the Ludwigslust-Parchim District, Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Südwestmecklenburg mbH, and VSP gGmbH.

The goal of the Ludwigslust-Parchim District Welcome Center is to establish a support structure designed to attract skilled professionals and workers from non-EU countries to the region. It aims to provide them with optimal advice and assistance during the settling-in process, thereby easing their start in the Southwest Mecklenburg region. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to support regional companies in particular by facilitating the recruitment of skilled professionals and workers from non-EU countries.

Our colleague, Ms. Lina Hauke, is the contact person for employers regarding this matter. Consultations take place by appointment at DeveLUP, Garnisonsstraße 7, 19288 Ludwigslust.

The “Welcome Center in the Ludwigslust-Parchim District – Business Service” project is funded by the European Union’s European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) as part of the 2021–2027 ESF+ program for the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
